Nike Air Trainer 1

First released in 1987, the Nike Air Trainer 1 marked the beginning of the multi-functional athletic shoe era. This revolutionary model was designed to meet the needs of athletes across multiple disciplines, making it the first truly universal training shoe. Its design combined elements from running, basketball and tennis shoes. Legendary designer Tinker Hatfield, behind many iconic Nike and Jordan models, created the Air Trainer 1 with a signature instep strap for added support. The Nike Air Trainer 1 not only changed the way sports shoes were viewed, but also laid the foundation for future innovations in sports sneakers.
